Steadfast is a ministry of BCC in which volunteers (of all ages and abilities) help with growing and harvesting fresh produce for our community. The goal is to provide nourishment to our church family and Steadfast is a ministry of BCC that grows and harvests fresh produce on site. It is also an opportunity for volunteers (of all ages and abilities) to help plant, maintain and harvest vegetables throughout the growing season. Once produce is harvested, it is placed in boxes along with words of encouragement and Scripture verses. The goal is to provide nourishment to our church family and those in need in our community, and to demonstrate God’s steadfast love and faithfulness. It is also an opportunity for families to grow together in service as they work in the garden.
UPCOMING WORK DAYS
9-10:30 am // BCC Gardens
Come help us plant seeds and prep for spring planting! Our upcoming work days are family-friendly events and we welcome anyone who would like to lend a hand.
HARVESTING
In the summer and fall months, we gather everything from the garden. After harvesting, we pack boxes, write encouragement notes/scripture, put artwork on the boxes, and pray over all the boxes. Produce is provided to anyone who is sick or discouraged or struggling.
ENCOURAGING
We know there are many in our community who are struggling, especially those battling chronic illnesses. Our goal is to encourage them to keep going, and to help them be steadfast. One way to do this is to get them fresh produce. All produce is organically grown onsite at our church, packed by volunteers of all ages, and in the boxes are hand-written letters with words of encouragement. We believe people not 0only need physical nourishment but emotional nourishment as well. Sometimes one encouraging word is all it takes. And most importantly, we believe people need spiritual nourishment which only comes from the word of God. We will include words from scripture that will help them know they are deeply loved by the Lord God almighty through the good news of Jesus Christ.
