Remodel & Financing Update

HI Buffalo Cov!

Here is a quick update on what is happening on our church remodel and the funding plan to go along with it:

REMODEL UPDATE

Plans are continuing to move ahead. The remodel team keeps meeting and handling questions and the myriad of details now before them.  The biddable documents have been developed, and we are now in the bidding process so that we can receive the best possible price for the remodel.  We as a staff are continuing to figure out our best options for classroom space, and for running two Sunday School hours now, and for getting prepared to use the gymnasium for worship for five months.

Reminder that our key word here for the summer is "flexibility". Things will not be exactly the same as when we are in the worship center. Consider this as a summertime "camp out", where it is going to be unique, and we will all be together, but it will be different. Steve LeClaire and the facilities team, and Christine Passig and the worship team are all working hard and making plans for this transition which will soon be upon us. Please be in prayer for these two faithful groups as they work and prepare for you.

FINANCING UPDATE

At our May 15 Congregational Meeting the church authorized the creation of a fund-raising campaign to cover the extra expenses related to the remodel. A team has been assembled and has been working for a month now. Members of the team are:

  1. Robb Kirkpatrick, Chairman
  2. Dan Riley, Treasurer
  3. Randy Watermiller
  4. Dan Wickman
  5. Gisela Gourley
  6. Eric Fredrickson
  7. Doug & Judy Bergstrom, small group visitation
  8. Gregg & Connie Hermerding, small group visitation
  9. Pastor Bill Miller, small group visitation, and other stuff

We are still looking for someone to be our Prayer Coordinator, so if you have interest in that, please speak with me about it.

OUR FOCUS:

Our focus for both the Remodel and the Financing, is the Great Commission.

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

We are doing this so that we as a church can help to fulfill the Great Commission in our area. An important part of the Great Commission is being open and available to all who would respond to Christ's call to "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."  By expanding our seating and parking, we will be making more room for those who wish to come and respond to the Gospel and grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I'll fill you in on more as we go along.

In the meantime, please pray for God's blessing and guidance upon our church.

For Christ and His Kingdom,

Pastor Bill
