Dear Buffalo Covenant,

Well, May 21st has come and gone and the world did not end. This once again affirms the importance of closely following the Scriptures. Jesus warned us not to be date-setting; He even said that not even He knew the Day nor the Hour; that was known only to our Father in Heaven (Mark 13:32). So what was Christ's admonition to us based on this fact?  "Keep watch." (Mark 13:35).  Jesus wants us alert to what is going on in the world around us, but He does not want us so focused that we forget why we are here. Before He left, He said, "Make Disciples" (Matthew 28:19). If our focus on the end-times every detracts or diminishes the fulfillment of the last command which He gave us, then we have seriously erred. So let's focus on the task at hand, to make disciples, whether they be our children, youth, adults, friends, family, co-workers, or the city of Buffalo. Be praying, inviting, and sharing in His name.

Speaking of Disciple Making, we had a great response to the Young Marrieds Small Group. This group is being led by Melodie and myself, along with Mick and Wendy Ling. We've had seven other couples sign-up, so we are currently full. We start June 1st, and are looking forward to a great summer of discipleship and fellowship with these folks. If you are interested in starting or hosting a small group, please feel free to contact me about it.
