Here's what's been happening with men's ministry.

As you may know, we've had some men involved in a monthly breakfast, and some Bible studies for years. God bless them! Yet, some men were feeling a need for additional opportunities for men also.

So I have been meeting with a men's core team for several months now. They are making plans and praying, and gathering up support, and clarifying their purpose and mission. 

They have divided the men's ministry into three key parts:  Spiritual, Social, Service. We have a couple of men in charge of each part.

The Spiritual part will begin to be addressed by the "Deep Waters Leadership Training for Men" which Pastor Max and I will be starting in September. The Service part is already happening as the men have been organizing themselves to lend assistance to people in need in our community. We also had Michael Passig and several other men & women assisting with the community breakfast sponsored at the Community Center for the less fortunate on the third Saturday of each month. I was there, and that was a great experience to help out. 

The men will be having a kick-off event during our church's Fall Kick-off Weekend, Sept. 10th. Watch the bulletin for details, men.

We need our men to step up and be the spiritual leaders at home, church, and work. Thanks to Michael Passig and all the men who are helping to make this happen.
