HI BCC!

We had a great start to the Advent Season in yesterday's services!  There was wonderful singing of Christmas music, and Pastor Max began his new series on "The Carols of Christmas", looking at the songs and praises from the pages of Scripture around the setting of Christ's birth.

We also introduced the 2011 Christmas Love Project. 

Our church has been focused for sometime now on the remodel project. While that is all well and good, it is time now, during the season of Christ's birth, to turn our eyes outward to the needs of the world. The Lord Jesus entered this world to help meet its needs; first of all, spiritual, but also physical. While He was here He fed the hungry. That is what we want to do also as a church body at Buffalo Cov.  The Elders felt it was appropriate for us as a church to give, as Christ has blessed us in so many ways. 

So, our three intrepid missionaries, Wendy Ling, Stacey Uecker, and Karen Wistrom, returned from their trip to Ethiopia and reported on the Children's Hope Chest orphanages. They serve over 270 kids there. We as a church are adopting them as our Christmas Love Project.

BCC will be gifting them the funds for a chicken farm! We tend to take chickens for granted in America, but Karen shared about the importance of this chicken farm to help meet the needs of their hundreds of children. Not only meat and eggs, but also, sales of chickens at the market, will help to supplement this orphanage in wonderful ways.

These are kids who need the love of Jesus.  So our goal will be to raise $7,000 to buy them the chicken farm. That's for baby chicks, chicken feed, chicken wire fencing, chicken coops!  Everything you ever needed for a chicken farm is what Buffalo Covenant Church will be supplying. This our project alone. There is no other church helping with this one. 

So, if you are able to give above and beyond your normal giving to Buffalo Covenant Church, then please write "Chicken Farm" in the memo, and drop it in the offering on any Sunday in December, and we will include your gift in the giant Christmas Love Project gift from BCC, given in the name of Jesus, who loves the children!
